An Open Letter for my 200th Post

Dear Dtailo readers,

I know I have been neglectful with my blogging duties, for a good reason though!!!..... (Long pause for emphasis) I have committed and signed the dotted line to open a small boutique (Named:The Dressing Room)here in Atlanta! It has been something that I have wanted to do for a long time, so when I saw the chance I hopped on it. Many of you guys (especially the fellow bloggers)are always telling me to follow my dreams, so I am. That doesn't make it any less scary. I will be looking to you guys for feedback and insight on the latest styles and trends. I also know a lot of you have tons of knowledge about retail fashion and thing of the sort, so please feel free to share any potential pitfalls or concerns. I truly owe this all to you guys (after God of course) for making me believe in what I love. Thank you so much.

I was just wondering what was going on with the covers lately and then two majors in one week. Halle and Naomi both look stunning. I don't subscribe to Harper's Bazaar so I may have to hit Borders for this one. I'm sure it will be worth it.

2009 Komen Atlanta Race for the Cure: Mocha Latte Hotties

Hey, I love it when people join a cause and put in work to get something done. That's what two of my friends are doing. Both of Anisha and LaToya are in the medical profession and got behind the cause of raising money for breast cancer research, and I applaud them for that.

Their team Mocha Latte Hotties is running in the race and raising money. I will be joining them in both efforts, if you would like to do the same click here to donate and leave a comment if you would like to run/walk. We hope to have a big turn out for this. Together we can save the TaTas (I always wanted to say that)

Two of my favorites paired together (not shoes and women, well sort of) but Giant magazine and Naomi Campbell. I will definitely look forward to this arriving in the mail.

Who are you following and how did you decide on them?

Local: Fashion and Style Honors Atlanta 2009

To put it nicely there were some first year jitters to be worked out at the Fashion and Style Honors (Atlanta)2009. The idea seems simple enough,the local fashion community has a "get together" to honor those doing good work, while raising charitable money. The execution of that idea was tab bit more difficult. The key missing piece to me was chairs, it appeared very hard to keep the attention of the standing crowd as they were ordering drinks from the bar and posing for numerous photo ops. Most people didn't hear many of the awards announced. Even with the above statements being true, I look forward to next year for the event. If the event planners were paying attention at all they will do a lot better job with the logistics, and this years jitters will look merely like first year growing pains.

Notably Dwight Eubanks hosted the event, while his martinis hosted him. LOL

Gucci Back Packing it

As usual me and Brooks have been talking about whats hot in the world of fashion and all things cool. During this particular conversation I was all excited about the 2009 Gucci Darwin backpacks. We both decided we needed to see them on before our final verdict, and who better to show us then Rhianna the Fashionista/Gucci spokesperson.

I am still excited and think its a winner, what about you?

Blog Life is playing the blues so I will dance

First if you are reading thank you. Second I am learning a lot these days about what can and can not be done using a blogger blog, so the change that I thought would be simple is not.

That being said, I will continue on doing the best i can with what I have until I get something better.
